Letterin vs Enhancv: which one fits you?
Enhancv is a well-designed CV builder that stands out on looks. Letterin is built around a separate CV for each posting that you approve, in more than one language. We compared the two on price, file format, tailoring and language.
- Enhancv's free use lasts 7 days with limits; Letterin has no time limit and no branding.
- Enhancv exports PDF only; Letterin gives the same CV as PDF and as a DOCX with embedded fonts.
- Letterin applies no AI suggestion until you accept it, and adds nothing that is not on your CV.
What Enhancv does well
Enhancv's templates are modern and eye-catching, and unusual sections such as achievements and strengths let you personalise your resume. It offers content suggestions, an ATS check, cover letters, interview prep and application tracking. If you want a visually distinctive resume, it is a strong option.
Pricing and free use
Enhancv's free use is limited to 7 days and a capped number of section items, and the free resume shows Enhancv branding. The paid plan removes both; in September 2026 it was $29 a month.
Letterin has no time limit and no branding. A free account edits and downloads without limit. Only AI usage is paid: about three tailoring runs a month on the free plan, Pro at $7.99 a month or $17.99 for three months, and a one-time pack of 5 credits for $4.99.
File format: PDF and Word
Enhancv downloads your resume as a PDF and offers no Word (DOCX) export. Some application systems and recruiting agencies ask for a Word file, or want to edit the file themselves.
Letterin gives you the same CV as PDF and DOCX. Both come from the same layout schema and the fonts are embedded in the Word file, so it opens looking like the preview. In both files the text stays real, selectable text that an ATS reads.
Tailoring and AI approval
On Letterin your master CV is kept once and each posting gets its own copy. Paste the posting or give its link; you see the match score and the missing terms, then the AI proposes a rewrite of your summary, bullets and skills for that posting. Each suggestion appears on the CV, under its own section, and does not enter the file until you accept it. The server checks every suggestion against its source: a figure, skill or title that is not on your CV cannot get through.
No posting? A request such as "make it shorter" or "lead with leadership" is enough.
Language, and which one to pick
Enhancv's interface comes in many languages. Letterin's interface and CV output come in six (English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish), chosen separately, and a copy of the same CV in another language is one step away.
If you want to stand out on design and a PDF is enough, Enhancv is a good choice. If you need a Word file, send a separate CV to every posting, or want to pay monthly only for the AI you use, Letterin fits better.
Questions
Is Enhancv free?
In a limited way. Free use lasts 7 days with a capped number of section items, and the free resume shows Enhancv branding. Removing the limits needs a paid plan.
Can I get a Word file from Enhancv?
Enhancv downloads resumes as PDF and offers no DOCX. If you need a Word file, upload the PDF to Letterin; the content is split into fields, and after reviewing it you download the same CV as PDF and DOCX.
Does Letterin have an ATS check like Enhancv?
Yes, and you can read it without an account: upload your CV and you get the score with every finding behind it. With a posting you also get a match score and the terms the posting asks for that your CV does not show.
