What to know before you start.
01Is my data safe?
While you're trying it out nothing is written to our servers — what we extract from your CV stays in your own browser. Once you create an account the data is yours, processed under GDPR and KVKK principles; you can delete your account or export your data at any time. During AI tailoring your content goes only to the configured AI provider.
02Will AI add things to my CV that aren't true?
No. AI only rewrites the information you provided; it cannot invent companies, titles, dates or skills. Every suggestion is validated server-side against your source data and is never applied until you approve it through a diff.
03What is an ATS and why does it matter?
An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is the software companies use to screen applications. Many CVs and resumes are filtered out before a human ever sees them. Letterin produces PDFs with a selectable text layer and shows the risks up front with an ATS score.
04Which languages can I produce a CV in?
Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Your interface language and your CV language are independent — for the same job posting you can build one document in Turkish and another in English. The text is written directly in the target language, never translated afterwards.
05Should I use a CV with a photo?
A photo CV is a common norm in Türkiye, which is why one of the templates supports a photo. ATS systems ignore photos — for international applications you may prefer the photo-free templates.
06Is it really free?
Yes. Creating and editing CVs, templates and PDF/Word downloads are unlimited on the free plan — and there is no watermark. The only thing metered is AI usage: tailoring and cover letters run on a free allowance that renews every month. If you need more, Pro raises the allowance; nothing in the free plan gets restricted.
07Do I need an account to try it?
No. Upload your CV, let the fields fill, edit, pick the template and design, read your ATS score, download a PDF or Word file — all without an account and all in your own browser. An account is asked for only when you run the AI, that is, when you tailor to a job posting.
08What is the difference between a CV and a resume?
In the UK, Europe and Türkiye they mean the same document, and "CV" is the usual word. In the US a resume is the short, targeted one to two pages you send to an employer, while a CV is the long academic record. Letterin writes the short targeted document either way — and the same one is called Lebenslauf in German, currículum in Spanish and currículo in Portuguese.
09Can I use it without a job posting?
Yes. "Make my CV shorter and sharper" or "lead with leadership" is a complete request; the same rewrite runs with no posting at all, and the suggestions still arrive one by one. If you do have a posting you can give both: the posting sets the target, your instruction sets the tone.
10Can I import my LinkedIn profile or a CV from another tool?
Yes. Upload a PDF or Word CV; or open the data archive LinkedIn gives you, a JSON Resume file, or a Reactive Resume export. Those three never leave your browser and cost none of your AI allowance. You can export your own data as JSON Resume at any time.
11Will search engines see the CV I publish?
No. A published page is marked closed to search engines; only the person you gave the link to opens it. Each link is its own label, so closing one leaves the other working, and you can add a password or hide your contact details. The page counts how often it was opened but never stores the visitor's IP address.
